1 September 2019 Byzantine New Year, Amalfi-Atrani
A historic reenactment of the glory days of the Duchy of Amalfi, this Byzantine New Year celebration takes you from Amalfi’s Sant’Andrea Cathedral to San Salvatore de Birecto Chapel in Atrani, the Palatine Chapel where the Dukes of Amalfi were crowned and a place of public assemblies. Concerts and cultural events will also take place. Festivities start at Sant’ Andrea Cathedral at 5:00 PM.
1-6 September 2019 Maiori Music Festival, Maiori
Enjoy chamber orchestral music in the open theaters of Maiori this September. Highlights include a free concert in the Byzantine monastery and church of S. Maria de Oleariawith the duo Mario Ciaccio (sax) and Enzo Biagio Giuffrida (clarinet). And on 4 September a tuba processional on the romantic Lemon Pathway in old town Maiori. 8-12 September 2019 A Taste of September, Agerola
Taste the seasonal offerings of the upper Amalfi Coast in the heart of Fiori di Latte cheese production in the town of Agerola. Each night features local musicians and food tastings, but the highlight is 8 September when musicians often in period costume roam the old alleys of Agerola and artisans offer tastings of local foods including rusk bread, Provolone del Monaco cheese and local pennate pear marmalade, house cured sopressata, pasta and beans and much more. 18 September Pathway to the Gods Concert, Colle Serra- Praiano
Ever year the town of Praiano hosts a series of open-air concerts on the scenic Pathway to the Gods. The Horn Duo of Luca Iacuzzo andAndrea Ferraiuolo at the entrance to the Pathway to the Gods in Praiano. For more information, check out Praiano’s concert series here.
28 September 2018, Fish Festival, Fornillo-Positano
Every year this festival takes place on the last Saturday of September, marking the bittersweet end to yet another Amalfi Coast summer. It starts with a procession through town and a boat trip from the marina of Positano to the scenic Fornillo cove. Free boats and sangria are provided. You can also walk to Fornillo. On the beaches of Fornillo you can buy tickets to enjoy fried fish, octopi’s salad, mussels and clams. The evening culminates with a raucous concert and a firework show. And lots and lots of wine! 29 September 2019, Lacreme d’Ammore Musical, Amalfi
A young protagonist Dante Esposito searches for the woman he loves in this modern musical version of Dante’s Trilogy. Crying and singing, young Dante recounts his love story with the musical accompaniment of the Virgil Orchestra. The show starts at 9:30PM in Vettica.
